Most people have a vision of how they would like their wedding to be. Great weddings bring people together to celebrate with joyful moments, a few tears and lots of fun and laughter. Once Alison and PJ knew what they wanted and that the location centered on Kalamalka Lake we set out to create the perfect experience. None of us live in the Okanagan so it was a “destination” wedding for everyone. The bride- and groom-to-be, mom and dad of the bride and mom of the groom made an awesome team but we needed another team member. Enter Bethany Armstrong – wedding planner extraordinaire. We engaged Bethany through her online site and it was the best decision we could have made. Bethany helped us plan, set out and stick to time lines, find the right people for the right things, engage the right resources, set up for the events and a myriad of other things that are too many to detail. Planning a wedding is probably one of the biggest, most stressful, life events that one can plan for as everything has to be "perfect". Most of us have never had experience planning an event of such proportions and so it can seem like a daunting task....this is where Bethany, our wedding coordinator for the day stepped in to help. We met with Bethany prior to the wedding to discuss details and sort out any potential kinks - she instantly warmed us with her bubbly personality and enthusiasm for making our day stress-free and extra special. Bethany assured us that she would take care of any little hiccups that might arise on the wedding day and that it was of utmost importance that we enjoy ourselves and have a stress-free day.

Well, our wedding day was exactly that, thanks to Bethany's assistance. She helped with decor setup early in the day, made sure that we stuck to the timeline and that everything flowed as planned. She organized all of the wedding party as we prepared ourselves to walk down the aisle in time with the ceremony music; set up programs and directed guests to their seats; and kept speeches and photos on time during the reception. Never once did we have to look at a clock or to someone to ask what to do next - Bethany was always there to guide us. Bethany was our "day of" wedding coordinator in July 2010 at Lake Okanagan Resort and she more than exceeded our expectations. We didn't worry about a thing and in hindsight, it was the best money we spent. Our family and friends were able to truly enjoy themselves instead of rushing around making sure all of the last minute details were in order. Bethany is very professional and a great listener. Many of people these days lack the sense of urgency that is required to coordinate a time sensitive project such as this and she is able to do so with a smile on her face!

I have known Bethany and her family since 2002 and when it came time to plan our wedding in 2006 she volunteered much to our delight. Since my partner and I live in Florida she had to handle every aspect of our wedding and the reception. She was simply fantastic and did not forget any of the details including having the cake topper hand painted to look like us. Every detail was handled to perfection. She found the locations for both our wedding ceremony as well as the reception and planned our dinner menu. She also booked our hotel for the evening.

It was simply a fantastic job that left us with the best of memories. I still can't thank her enough even now. I don't think she knows how to disappoint.

What she did for us was more than incredible. When we found out a good friend from a long distance away was coming up for a visit in March we changed our wedding date and dropped this bomb on her two weeks before he was to arrive. Not only did this change the time line, we had a very limited budget for her to work with. What she did cannot be explained with words. She organized everything from the hair dresser, flowers, hall, food, justice of the peace, lakefront wedding, photographer and cake on a budget that would seem impossible to accomplish all of this.

It was a beautiful simple affair that we were able to share with family and friends and I am so thankful for all Bethany did for us. Some still tell us that this was one of the best weddings that they have attended. She had a vision and worked with me to make this day such a special occasion and I know she will do the same for every person that chooses to have Bethany organize this once in a lifetime event.
